LOS ANGELES — The Pac-12 championship game will, for now, remain at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
The conference announced Wednesday that it had reached an extension for the northern California stadium to continue hosting the title game through the 2019 season.
Levi’s Stadium has served as the site since 2014. It opened that year primarily to house the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers.
But could the Pac-12 ultimately move its championship game elsewhere?
As part of the extension with the stadium, the conference has an option for 2020, coinciding with the planned openings of two additional new NFL stadiums on the West Coast.
