LOS ANGELES >> USC forward Bennie Boatwright was diagnosed on Thursday with a Grade II sprain in the medial collateral ligament in his left knee, a school spokesman said.
Boatwright underwent an MRI earlier in the day. He is expected to miss six weeks, a timetable that puts him out for 10 games, including the first four of Pac-12 Conference play.
The 6-foot-10 sophomore injured his knee during USC’s 76-55 win at San Diego on Wednesday night. The sequence occurred less than three minutes into the game when Juwan Gray, a guard for the Toreros, collided with Boatwright as he attempted a jump shot.
