Senior Power Leads UConn Baseball Past Holy Cross

It was a very happy 22nd birthday for UConn senior Joe DeRoche-Duffin Wednesday afternoon in Worcester, Mass. The slugger launched two home runs to power the Huskies past the Holy Cross Crusaders, 5-1. DeRoche-Duffin now has 10 homers on the season, which puts him at a tie for the American Athletic Conference lead.

Redshirt freshman Jack Riley got the start for the Huskies. The southpaw delievered 4.1 innings of work, allowing just one earned run on 5 hits with 4 strikeouts. The bullpen pitchers shined following Riley's departure as they combined for the final 4.2 innings while only allowing two baserunners on.
