Kentucky slows UCLA to a halt in Sweet 16; Lonzo Ball headed to NBA

MEMPHIS, Tenn. >> Lonzo Ball walked to UCLA’s huddle, his chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath late in the second half.

The Bruins’ point guard looked weary from the breakneck pace at which he played all season.

On Friday night, UCLA looked like it was running in place.

Second-seeded Kentucky took advantage, ending third-seeded UCLA’s season with an 86-75 win fueled by its own heralded freshman backcourt.

De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk combined for 58 of the Wildcats’ 86 points, an unceasing performance that finally broke the Bruins’ back late in the second half.
