University of Tulsa placekicker Redford Jones was selected as the American Athletic Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office.
Jones, a 5'10" junior from Norman North High School in Norman, Okla., scored 10 points, including two crucial fourth-quarter field goals, in Tulsa's 40-37 overtime win against Cincinnati as the Golden Hurricane overcame a 10-point deficit in the final 15 minutes.
Jones hit a 24-yard field goal early in the fourth period to bring Tulsa within seven, and he hit a 22-yard field goal as time expired in regulation to force overtime.
