Tulsa’s Kirk Smith Named First-Team CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I Track & Field/Cross Country Selection

University of Tulsa track & field student-athlete Kirk Smith was named to the 2017 Academic All-America® Division I Track & Field/Cross Country first team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Smith's academic honor marks the 68th time that a Tulsa student-athlete has earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, and the 28th time for a first-team selection.

Smith completed his athletic career at Tulsa with perfect 4.00 grade point average, thus earning President's List honors for eight semesters.

A native of St. Louis, Mo., Smith was named as a Rhodes Scholar this year and also was the male recipient of the American Athletic Conference's Commissioner's Postgraduate Leadership Award.
