The Hurricane (19-13 overall, 8-12 The American) opened their season at 11-1, defeating Alabama at home during the first weekend of play before eventually rattling off nine straight wins on their way to winning three straight non-conference tournament titles. In American Athletic Conference play, the Hurricane put together a streak of five straight victories that was highlighted by a win over then first-place Cincinnati on the road, who qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
Seniors Erica Bohannon and Brooke Berryhill were named first-team and second-team all conference as they rounded out their prolific careers at TU.
