Tulane's Jonathan Banks looks to bring added competition to QB battle

Going into the offseason following his first year as head coach at Tulane, one of Willie Fritz's top priorities was to improve the overall competition at the quarterback position going into the 2017 season.

The Green Wave went into last season with three quarterbacks that took a total of one snap at the collegiate level, and that lack of experience along with the growing pains that come with learning a new system, led to Tulane having one of the least productive passing games in the nation.

Tulane added junior college transfer Jonathan Banks to the mix at quarterback during the offseason, and with redshirt junior Glen Cuiellette and sophomore Johnathan Brantley both returning this year, the competition at signal-caller has been "night and day" in the first few days of spring camp.
