Tulane loses its first AAC series with a 12-2 loss to No. 12 Houston Sunday

Tulane baseball dropped the series finale at No. 12 Houston, 12-2, in seven innings Sunday afternoon at Schroeder Park. It was the first American Athletic Conference series loss this season for the Green Wave (20-21, 8-4 American), which is now tied for first place in the league with the Cougars (27-12, 8-4 American).

Houston scored nine runs in the first inning, and scored a run in the fifth and two in the seventh. Kody Hoese drove in Jarret DeHart with a single in the fourth inning, and Hunter Williams homered to start the sixth.

Tulane got on the board in the fourth inning when DeHart reached on a two-out error at short, then scored after Grant Brown and Hoese hit back-to-back singles.
