NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – Troy thrower Zach Douglas was named Sun Belt Men's Field Athlete of the Year, the league office announced Friday.
Douglas, a Cullman, Ala., native, won a pair of medals at this year's Sun Belt Outdoor Championships, including a victory in the discus – he threw a 54.25-meter throw to claim the title. After winning the title in the shot put event last season, he earned a silver medal at the meet this season.
The senior experienced success in both the shot put and discus throw events, earning several top finishes throughout the outdoor season.
