TROY – Troy senior wide receiver John Johnson was named to the Sun Belt Conference Leadership Team at the league’s spring meeting in Point Clear, Alabama over the weekend.
One student-athlete from each institution was selected for the Sun Belt Conference Leadership Team. The honor is given to those that exemplify the highest qualities of being a true student-athlete.
A nominee for both the Wuerffel Trophy and Good Works Team last season, Johnson, a native of Troy, has not shied away from giving back to the community that raised him. The Charles Henderson High School graduate has spearheaded several community initiatives for the Troy football team including Read Across America, Habitat for Humanity and Troy’s inaugural Bench Out for Breast Cancer.
