Troy, after reaching the NCAA Tournament last season, is getting at least one major power on its schedule.
The Trojans will play Kentucky on Nov. 20 at vaunted Rupp Arena, the Wildcats announced Tuesday. Of UK’s 13 non-conference foes, eight were in last season’s NCAA Tournament.
Troy has never played Kentucky, which has won eight national championships with 17 Final Four appearances and 56 NCAA Tournament berths. The Trojans were in March Madness for the second time this year.
The timing of the game is most inconvenient for a high-profile Troy employee with deep Kentucky roots.
