Climbing to the top of the Sun Belt Conference isn’t easy. Staying there is even more difficult.
Troy basketball coaches Chanda Rigby and Phil Cunningham won conference tournaments this year. Neal Brown’s football Trojans won 10 games, including the Dollar General Bowl in Mobile. The Troy baseball program has enjoyed success in the Sun Belt.
Each of those programs has taken steps from being a hunter to being hunted. It’s a challenge the coaches understand their players need to expect – and embrace.
“The bigger challenge is going from good to great, or going from a 10-win team that was really good to a championship-level team that’s elite,” Brown said Tuesday night during a jam-packed Trojan Tour 2017 stop at Highland Oaks.
