MOBILE, Alabama – Chase Smartt homered in the top of the 10th inning to lift Troy past South Alabama, 5-4, in game one of the Sun Belt set Thursday night at Stanky Field.

Tied 4-4 with two outs in the 10th, Smartt jumped on a first pitch fastball and deposited it into the trees in left-center.

Troy (31-22, 16-12) jumped out to a four-run lead in the sixth inning behind the bat of Brody Binder – who finished the game 3-for-4 with a career-high four RBIs.
