TROY — Troy, after making an infamous trip to Ole Miss in 2013, will return and face the Rebels in the 2022 season opener. The teams will meet Sept. 3, 2022, both schools announced Friday.
In November 2013, Ole Miss broke a 62-year-old school record with 751 yards offense in a 51-21 win over the Trojans.
“I told them I would try to shoulder the blame for that one,” then-Troy coach Larry Blakeney said that day. “But the only way I think I can shoulder it is to not schedule them again.
