Following their first three wins, Lithuania’s Basketball hopes have considerably decreased game by game. Australia effortlessly eliminated Lietuva in a 90-64 win where Raptors’ Jonas Valanciunas failed to impact the game once again.
Lithuania’s second and third quarter downfalls
As always, Lithuania gives away the game mid-way through the second quarter. While they start off solidly more often than not, the third quarter is when their opponents increase their lead to distances too far to reach. Spurs’ Patty Mills lead his team with 24 points counting five threes. Given Australia has been playing excellent basketball in the Olympics, holding a nine-point lead at the end of the first quarter seemed fair.
