Nylander’s hat trick leads Marlies to win

The Toronto Marlies staved off elimination with a resounding 5-0 win over the Hershey Bears on Friday night at Ricoh Coliseum. The Marlies trail the Eastern Conference Final three games to one.

William Nylander led the offence, notching his first hat trick of the year. On two occasions, Nylander had a two-goal game during the 2015-16 regular season.

Josh Leivo and Connor Carrick had the other Marlies goals. Carrick now has 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in 14 games to lead all AHL playoff scorers.

TJ Brennan recorded four assists, and Antoine Bibeau bounced back from a subpar outing on Wednesday, stopping all 18 shots directed his way for the shutout.
