Mitch Marner had a pair of assists as Toronto dropped their first preseason game of 2016 by a score of 6-3 to the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax.

Marner was dangerous with the puck all evening, creating a few end-to-end rushes with his exceptional speed. The 19-year-old is making his bid to make the Leafs out of training camp, as his junior status makes him ineligible to play for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies this season.

All three Leafs goals were scored by defencmen: Andrew Nielsen, Frank Corrado and Jake Gardiner.
