Blue line leads the way as Marlies complete sweep

The Toronto Marlies rallied for a 4-1 deficit to defeat the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 6-4 in Calder Cup playoff action on Thursday, completing the three-game series sweep at Ricoh Coliseum.

Five of Toronto’s goals were scored by defencemen. Connor Carrick led the way with a hat trick, while TJ Brennan and Viktor Loov also tallied from the blue line. Zach Hyman was the only forward to score for the Marlies.

In goal Garret Sparks came on in relief of Antoine Bibeau, making 12 saves for the win.

The Marlies will face the Albany Devils in the North Division Finals.
