Josh Leivo had a goal and three assists to power the Marlies to a 7-4 victory over Jeff Blashill’s Grand Rapids Griffins. Seven different Marlies got goals (Leivo, Brennan, McKegg, Rodewald, Matt Rupert, Leipsic and Froese) and 13 Marlies recorded a point in the win.
Christopher Gibson made 24 saves on 28 shots – with two of the Griffins goals coming on the power play. Toronto went 0/6 on the man advantage, scoring six of their goals at 5v5 and one empty netter.
The Marlies made sure most of the Grand Rapids roster felt their wrath as all but six Griffins players finished with a negative +/- rating.
