Toronto Maple Leafs: Bernier’s Arbitration Parameters

If Jonathan Bernier and the Toronto Maple Leafs can’t settle before July 31st, this is what his salary range will be for next year.

If you split the difference, which is generally what the arbitrators do in most cases, you get $2.21M. Spread that equally, adding half to the Toronto Maple Leafs offer and subtracting the other half from Jonathan Bernier’s request you’ll get $3.995M.

With these parameters now in place I’m going to take a guess and say a one year, $3.9M deal is what we’ll be seeing Jonathan Bernier playing under for the 2015-2016 NHL season.
