Giovinco included in hilarious MLS Best XI

It looks as if the crazy, 10-goal Toronto FC vs. Montreal Impact tie may have gone to a few people’s heads at MLS HQ.

The league has decided that full-backs and defensive midfielders are overrated in their annual Best XI, with a goalkeeper, three defenders, four attacking midfielders and three strikers making up this year’s selection.

Despite not being nominated for the MVP award, Sebastian Giovinco gets the nod for Toronto alongside Bradley Wright-Phillips and David Villa in attack. There is no room for Justin Morrow due to the aforementioned no-full-back policy.

The goalkeeper and three defenders are, unsurprisingly, the Goalkeeper of the Year winner and the Defender of the Year nominees respectively, while Sacha Kljestan joined Villa and Wright-Phillips on the MVP list.
