Travis held out again with left shoulder injury

TORONTO -- Second baseman Devon Travis was held out of the Blue Jays' lineup for the second consecutive game on Wednesday night because of a left shoulder injury.

Travis sustained the injury during Monday night's fracas with the Yankees. The 25-year-old got tangled up in a scrum, and he later felt a lot of discomfort during a fourth-inning strikeout.

Toronto previously considered Travis day to day with shoulder soreness. It's not immediately clear when he's expected to return to the field after missing the first two games of a three-game series vs. Baltimore.

Infielder Ryan Goins got the start at second base in Travis' absence, while left fielder Ezequiel Carrera was back in the leadoff spot for the second straight game.
