Jose Bautista has his say on suspension, makes GM's day

NEW YORK - Jose Bautista presented his appeal of a one-game suspension to Major League Baseball Thursday morning and will await the outcome over the next few days.

Even though Bautista seemed more the victim than the perpetrator in the beaning and brawl at Texas two weeks ago, it is not clear how MLB will respond.

"Jose handled himself exceptionally well," Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said. "It's really disappointing to us to have gone through that and have felt so aggressively attacked by another team that he's serving a suspension. If the fight didn't actually ensue, I don't think he's dealing with a suspension.
