Jays eye Norris for a start

General manager Alex Anthopoulos was planning to make a quick trip to Buffalo last evening to take in lefty Daniel Norris’ start for the Bisons, with an eye to having Norris perhaps make a return to the Blue Jays for a spot start just before the all-star break.

With Buffalo, Norris is 1-7, 3.72 ERA in 10 starts but his last two starts have been good ones. He has struck out 16 batters in 11.1 innings.

“When Norris is right, the strikeout totals are big,” said Anthopoulos. “When he first went down, the strikeout totals were good, but in the last few, they’ve really started to climb.
