TORONTO - The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly landed a true ace for their starting rotation just one day before the non-waiver trade deadline.
Jon Heyman of CBS reported on Thursday that Jays acquired five-time all-star and 2012 Cy Young winner David Price, a lefty, from the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. Prospect pitcher Daniel Norris is part of the package going the other way, Heyman reported.
Price is a rental player for now. His contract expires after the 2015 season.
The move completes a huge week for Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos, who landed star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki in a trade with the Colorado Rockies early Tuesday.
