The Kentucky Derby is known as the most exciting two minutes in all of sports, and the race did not disappoint again this year.
Nyquist (2-1 odds) opened the race as the favorite, and pulled away from the pack on the final stretch to take the victory.
Exaggerator (5-1 odds) finished in second, while Gun Runner (10-1 odds) came in third. They were the three favorites to win the race.
Nyquist will now try to become the second straight horse to win the Triple Crown. Last year's Derby winner, American Pharoah, became the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years.
Nyquist will go for the second leg of the Triple Crown at the Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 21st in Baltimore, MD.
