Will Guardiola's pursuit of tactical perfection pay off for Man City?

Pep Guardiola is supposed to take Manchester City to “a new level of tactical sophistication.”

It is a phrase the club’s CEO, Ferran Soriano, has returned to more than once over the past few months, and Guardiola is certainly trying to rise to the challenge.

The Catalan is obsessed with outnumbering his opposition in crucial areas so it can be killed off more easily, and has come up with a number of ways to do it.

He has used his fullbacks and his center backs as auxiliary midfielders, and against Barcelona last week played Kevin De Bruyne instead of Sergio Aguero and asked the Belgian to drop deep.
