A few days after trade talks between the Minnesota Twins and the Atlanta Braves appeared to have fizzled, it’s finally official: Left-handed starting pitcher Jaime Garcia is headed to Minneapolis.

The Twins announced the deal Monday, acquiring Garcia, catcher Anthony Recker and cash from the Braves for minor-league pitcher Huascar Ynoa.

Garcia has a 4.30 ERA and a 1.319 WHIP in 18 starts this season.

The 31-year-old started Friday for the Braves, working seven innings for the second game in a row and allowing three earned runs.

Originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2005, Garcia spent eight seasons with the Cardinals before being traded to the Braves last winter.
