The Fifth Quarter: Spurs torch new-look Warriors in opener

It took the Warriors 25 games to experience their first loss last season. It took them just one to start this one.

The Spurs, sans Tim Duncan, beat the Warriors 129-100 in the season opener Tuesday night.

Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge didn't come in with the buzz that Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green did, but the Spurs' new cornerstones in the wake of Duncan's retirement came up big.

Leonard scored a career-high 35 points while Aldridge added 26 points and 14 rebounds for the Spurs, who beat the Warriors at Oracle Arena, where the team went 39-2 last regular season.
