The Saints on Tuesday announced an agreement with left tackle on Terron Armstead on a five-year contract extension.
Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Armstead, 24, was a third-round pick by the Saints in 2013. Though he battled injuries last season, he developed into one of the top left tackles in the NFL.

Saints coach Sean Payton sang Armstead's praise in December when he finished the season playing through an injury.
