Louisville's decision to self-impose a postseason ban did not run through coach Rick Pitino, and he wasn't shy about expressing his displeasure with the decision.
After an emotional news conference in which Pitino, school president James Ramsey and athletic director Tom Jurich announced the self-imposed ban, Pitino reiterated that Jurich pushed for the ban and Ramsey gave the OK.

"We should be penalized, no question about it, but not this team," Pitino told reporters, via the Courier-Journal.
