According to the report, it remains unknown if the game will be a Stadium Series meeting or the NHL’s annual Winter Classic game on Jan. 1. There is also the possibility of a second game taking place in Philadelphia.
If all goes according to plan once the details are finalized, Heinz Field would become the first venue to host a second outdoor game after previously hosting a meeting in 2011.
