New Eagles regime quick to move on from Riley Cooper

The Eagles have parted ways with wide receiver Riley Cooper, the team announced Monday.

Cooper, 28, signed a four-year, $22.5 million contract prior to the 2014 season. He caught 55 passes for 577 yards and three scores in 2014, and just 21 passes for 327 yards and two touchdowns this past season.

Cooper will be remembered in Philly not for his breakout season in 2013 (eight touchdowns), but as the epitome of Chip Kelly's failed culture war. The former Eagles coach went to bat for Cooper after he was caught on video using a racial slur.
