DETROIT -- It’s officially the battle of former 2009 first-round quarterback picks on Thanksgiving at Ford Field.
With the Philadelphia Eagles making Sam Bradford inactive, former No. 5 overall pick Mark Sanchez will get the start. Opposite him will be the No. 1 overall pick from that draft, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford.
“Mark, coming through the draft process and all of that with him, I spent some time with him early in my career,” Stafford said this week. “I would say it’s been a long time since I’ve talked to him besides on the field kind of stuff.
