Katina Powell regrets that her book led to Louisville's postseason ban

Whistleblower Katina Powell said in a radio interview Tuesday that she regrets that her book's allegations about the Louisville basketball program led to the university's self-imposed ban on postseason play this year.

Making her first public comments since that ban, Powell — a former escort whose book alleges that a former Louisville staffer hired her and other dancers for sex parties at the team's dormitory — told Kentucky Sports Radio that "a lot of people were punished that were innocent."

With her attorney present for the interview, she said she felt particularly bad for the Cardinals' leading scorers Damion Lee and Trey Lewis, both of whom are graduate transfers who came to Louisville this season with an eye toward playing in the NCAA Tournament.
