Favre in Hall of Fame on first shot

SAN FRANCISCO -- The 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame was announced on Saturday night at NFL Honors and was headlined by Brett Favre waltzing into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.

Joining Favre were Marvin Harrison, Kevin Greene, Orlando Pace, Ken Stabler, Dick Stanfel, Eddie DeBartolo and Tony Dungy.

Two themes in particular stand out from this specific class.

One, we're clearly just going to see a slow trickle of wide receivers go into the Hall of Fame. Terrell Owens was denied entrance by the voters, meaning Harrison was the only wide receiver to gain entrance into Canton.
