Bond for Creighton guard Maurice Watson set at $750,000 in sexual assault case

Bond for injured Creighton point guard Maurice Watson Jr. has been set at $750,000 after he was charged with first-degree sexual assault for allegedly forcing a 19-year-old woman into having non-consensual sex on Feb. 4.

Watson, whose college career was cut short because of a torn ACL, turned himself into authorities on Sunday after a warrant was issued for his arrest on Thursday.

According to the Associated Press, Watson appeared in the Douglas County (Neb.) Court on Monday, and a preliminary hearing was set for March 27. Watson will have to post $75,000 to be released from jail.
