The 142nd Kentucky Derby is right around the corner, with the historic event taking place this upcoming Saturday afternoon at Churchill Downs in Louisville.
Post positions were released on Wednesday, and odds-on favorite Nyquist -- who has won all seven of his prep races with jockey Mario Gutierrez heading into the Derby -- didn't get an ideal stall, but maintains a strong edge in the sportsbooks. Nyquist's trainer, Doug O'Neill, has full confidence in the horse despite the circumstances.
"The post draw didn't matter to us a ton, but we're happy being more toward the outside for sure," O'Neill said.
