University of Toledo president Sharon Gaber has taken a seat on an NCAA panel next to leaders of the Big Ten, Pac-12, and other Division I athletic conferences.
Gaber, who became UT’s president in 2015, will represent the Mid-American Conference on the NCAA’s Division I Presidential Forum. The MAC consists of 12 universities — including UT and the Rockets’ rival Bowling Green State University — located in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and New York.
Her appointment was unanimously approved by other MAC university presidents at a June 1 meeting, conference spokesman Jeremy Guy said.
Gaber said she’s “excited” about and “intrigued” by the opportunity.
