AVON, Ohio - Senior Steven Calhoun recorded his third complete game of the season, but the Rockets were held to a season-low three hits in a 7-0 loss to Kent State in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament at Sprenger Stadium on Wednesday.
Toledo (0-1) started the game with a lead off double by junior Matt Hansen, but the Rockets left Hansen stranded at third to end the top of the first inning.
Calhoun retired the first three Golden Flashes he faced to breeze through the bottom of the inning. In the second, Calhoun worked around a lead off hit-by-pitch and a two-out walk to keep Kent State off the scoreboard.
