AKRON, OH – Freshman Izzy Jones recorded a meet record in the 500-yard freestyle to help Toledo to a fifth-place finish at the Zippy Invitational. The Rockets finished the weekend with 823.5 points, while the Zips secured the gold and Oakland followed in second place.
Jones recorded a career-best time of 4:50.10 in the 500 free, shaving off 14 seconds from her previous best, and then followed up with a second-place performance in the 200 free with an all-time best time of 1:48.05.
Freshman Maureen O'Sullivan recorded a new career-best time of 55.
