After waiting two hours past the scheduled starting time as Mississippi State battled Western Illinois for the win in 11 innings, the Red Raiders got off to a hot start their final day in Starkville, Miss.
Despite putting up four runs in the top of the first, Tech’s relief staff struggled through the middle of the game as the Bulldogs topped No. 14 Texas Tech 8-5 Sunday evening.
The Red Raiders (3-1) carried over their success in getting their leadoff runner on base from the day before as Grant Little singled up the middle to start off for Tech.
