Texas Tech at 1,000, defining moments: Getting crossways with Pete Cawthon

Editor’s Note: The Avalanche-Journal is revisiting defining moments in Texas Tech football history as the Red Raiders head toward their 1,000th game on Sept. 5.

Mike Leach wasn’t the first Texas Tech football coach to wear out his welcome with Tech higher-ups and get banished.
