Texas Tech senior Jakeem Grant broke Michael Crabtree’s school record for career receiving yards in the fourth quarter of the Red Raiders’ 48-45 win on Thanksgiving night against Texas in Austin.
Grant reached 3,164 in four years, breaking the mark of 3,127 yards that Crabtree produced in two years before leaving early for the NFL.
“It definitely means a lot,” Grant said, “going up there to one of the greats that played here at Texas Tech and probably one of the greatest that played in college football, period. I just want to cherish this moment and thank my teammates for allowing me to do it.
