Word certainly got around that former Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes II was back in the Hub City.
The result: A sea of red apparel - much of it marked with the No. 15 - and Texas Tech memorabilia filled McGavock Nissan as fans patiently waited to see the 10th overall 2017 NFL Draft pick on Monday.
Mahomes was back in Lubbock for the first time since being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round, and likely the last time before the start of the NFL season, for a special signing hosted by McGavock Nissan, with the event’s proceeds benefiting the Team Luke Foundation and High Point Village.
