Gingery turns in quality start as Red Raiders earn series win over Shockers

WICHITA, Kan. — Steven Gingery continued his run at perfection Saturday afternoon.

The Texas Tech left-handed pitcher struck out eight batters and scattering three hits over six innings, as No. 3-ranked Red Raiders defeated Wichita State 4-1 at Eck Stadium.

With the win, Texas Tech (21-4), which increased its win streak to seven games, earned its first series win in Wichita in program history. The Red Raiders, who also notched their fourth straight weekend series win this season, earned their first series win over the Shockers (10-12) since 1995.

All of Saturday’s success can be attributed to Gingery’s solid performance on the mound.
