The Texas State women's tennis team opened its 2017 spring schedule playing doubles matches against three teams on Friday afternoon at the TCU Invitational. The Bobcats competed against TCU, ULM and UTEP at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
Pippa Carr and Julia Navajo-Melendez combined for a 6-3 victory against TCU's Marie Norris and Olaya Garrido-Rivas to highlight Texas State's opening day at the tournament. Following their victory, Carr and Navajo-Melendez dropped their next two matches against UTEP's Raven Bennett and Daphne Visacher (6-2) and ULM's Luana Stanciu and Tiffany Mylonas of ULM (6-1).
