MLB Rumor Central: Mets, Rangers met at winter meetings?

The New York Mets, who are looking to trade right fielder Jay Bruce and acquire relief pitching, met with the Texas Rangers at the winter meetings, reports MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan.

The Mets would like to deal the 29-year-old Bruce to relieve a surplus of outfielders caused by the re-signing of Yoenis Cespedes to a four-year, $110 million deal as a free agent.

Texas reliever Jeremy Jeffress could be an important component of any trade talks with the Rangers. The club discussed a deal involving the 29-year old righty with the Cincinnati Reds, reports MLB.
