After sitting in 96-degree direct sunlight for nearly an hour Thursday during a ceremony to name a field at the Rangers' new youth sports complex in West Dallas, Josh Hamilton said he expects "100 percent" to play for Texas in 2017 on his reconstructed left knee.

The first step in that process will probably be for the Rangers to release him.
